Edit, Edit, Edit!!
Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9:48PM The other day I came upon this speech, delivered by an overly enthusiastic man with a funny accent. I don’t share all of his beliefs, and just to be clear, he is a tad too patriotic for my taste. And yet…he inspired me. Here is my speech:

Everyday Glamour Chicks, (E.G.C.’s), stand tall. E.G.C.’s are happy and confident women. They are comfortable in their own skin and refuse to compromise on their individual quirks. E.G.C.’s have it all together. They have a pep in their step and some color in their cheeks. Oh yeah, and they look good too.
How do they look so good? By editing their wardrobes….every 6 months.
If you want to look glamorous everyday: Edit your wardrobe.
If you want to learn how to spend your money wisely on only the most flattering garments: Edit your wardrobe.
If you want to finally figure out what your own unique personal style is: Edit your wardrobe.
E.G.C.’s edit their wardrobes…every 6 months.

I hear too much chatter about all the cute Fall fashions. Fashionistas can talk a good game. What we need more of today are E.G.C.’s with discriminating taste and ruthless discernment. E.G.C.’s edit their wardrobes. How often? Every 6 months.
“Kate, you can count on me!”
Wonderful! Now go edit your wardrobe!
“Kate, I like all the E.G.C. style tips here!”
Thanks! I hope you edit your wardrobe!
“Kate, I’m totally sold on this ‘Less is More/Quality over Quantity’ idea!”
Super! Edit your wardrobe.
“But, Kate, quality is expensive.”
Not if you have less and know exactly what to buy. Edit your wardrobe!
“But Kate, can't you just go shopping with me?”
Oh yes, I would love to! But first you have to edit your wardrobe. (And I can help you with that too.)
“Kate, I am the Senior Vice President, General Merchandise Manager for Glamour Chic Department Stores International, can I quit editing my wardrobe?”
Nope.
“Kate, I don’t have the time to edit my wardrobe.”
Then you won’t be glamorous everyday.
“Kate, you don’t understand, see, Barneys is having a 70% shoe sale right now!”
You have to edit your wardrobe first before you can go.
“But, Kate, they have PRADA!!!!”
I don’t care. Edit your wardrobe first.
