It's summertime. Time to sit back and unwind. Everyday Glamour Chicks, (E.G.C.'s), stay cool in white jeans. Bring on the heat!
E.G.C.'s who are curvy on bottom:
Try bootcut or flares. The width at the bottom hem will vary depending on the fullness of the lower body. Some curvey E.G.C.'s can wear skinny jeans--it's a matter of proportions. Make sure the top you wear balances the upper body with the lower body. A waistband that hits low waist to high hip flatter you best! Back pockets are a must. No back flaps, keep them plain. Let back pockets be placed mid to low bum and make sure they are larger scale pockets. Small back pockets placed high on the bum look out of proportion. A bit of a heel or wedge shoe will be beautiful.
E.G.C.'s who are slimmer on bottom with broader shoulders:
Choose jeans with some weight to the fabric. You can wear many different styles. Again, a waistband that hits low waist to high hip flatter you best. Style the jeans with woven tops with some structure to them, and in longer lengths, or opt for blouson style tops. Avoid knits that cling to the waistline.
Bonus: The man-magnet white jeans outfit
Wear this at your own risk, ladies. Wear your white jeans with a blue chambray button front shirt, untucked and with the sleeves rolled up to the elbows. Pair this with flat brown or metallic sandals. For extra credit wear a trilby hat. When wearing this outfit, men will say, "Hello!", "Hey.", "Hi!", and "How YOU doin'?" (the last one said in a Brooklyn accent) to you everywhere you go. The man-magnet white jeans outfit is a strange and mysterious phenomenon. Don't say I didn't warn you!

YAY white jeans...love this post!!!!! :)
YES that is so true! I have the man magnet outfit and my hubby always reacts that way. It's so simple! Why is that Kate? Essplain?
I have too many white jeans (a couple more since you were here even...guilty face) and the ones that flatter me most are the boot cut - I guess that means I have a big ass. (see how that wasn't a question) I actually bought a vintagy pair that are super 70's - low waist, tight leg and flare (not too low or too flare, perfectly so) and they are super cool with a white v-neck t-shirt.

(p.s. the Canadian response to the M.M. jeans is "hows she goin eh", fyi)
Ha, ha!! That's interesting about the M.M., eh? :D They say it with their chins pointed upward. How YOU doin'?
I don't understand the man magnet phenomenon. It goes against the grain of what women think men like.
Ms. Anonymous, I can attest to the fact that you do not have a large posterior although it is shapely and attractive nonetheless. ;) The bootcut jeans flatter many different figure types and I would recommend them to many women! I can totally see you in that super-70s outfit--well played!
Hi there! I haven't talked to you in a while. hope you are doing well.. I agree-white jeans are a must have for the summer and now I have added white linen pants to my must have list too. Actually I am a bit obsessed with all things white. Hope you are doing well...would love to connect with you in NY when I am there in September. --Naina
Consider it done, Naina! We'll enjoy a long lunch. :)
Oh, and I too am currently drawn to all things white. What does that say about us?

Hi from Toronto! I just discovered your blog a few days ago (after a google search looking for tips on developing a core wardrobe). I absolutely love it, and am really grateful to have found it. I'm on a journey of simplifying my life right now on many fronts, including my wardrobe, and I find that your insight and advice is so timely & on point!!! I live in the city but work remotely most of the time (I miss getting dressed to go to work!), I have a 2 1/2 year old and am working on being an EGC within this daily life of mine, and on a pretty tight budget ;). I'm very happily reading through your previous posts, and find that you're giving words to things - and answering questions - that I've been grappling with for sometime but couldn't articulate. I've been deeply frustrated with my wardrobe... part of it comes from trying to spread my $ too thin on many things instead of buying fewer but classic and good quality pieces that really suit me... now i see it's also because i've been shying away from spending any money on bags and shoes, and instead gravitate toward "a couple more tops". AND I've been shopping without a bigger plan in mind - without a vision for the actual wardrobe I'm trying to build for the life I actually live. Anyway, it seems like I've had some things backward, and now it's time to edit and put things in order in this part of my life :). I downloaded your workbook, and am starting into it this week. There's my rambling comment to say a first big hello, and a big thank you for sharing your expertise in this way.
Annie with an "E"!! Could we be "kindred spirits"? (That was my "Anne of Green Gables" reference) :)
So very happy to read your wonderful comment--it has surely inspired me! Thank you. Ideas are churning away in my little noggin. Stay tuned. Yes--the big picture comes first, then we fill in the blanks.
Welcome to Everyday Glamour!
Wow - my comment looks MUCH longer now that it's published! Ah well. I am wordy, this I know. Appreciate the Canadiana reference - a childhood favourite :). And thanks for the warm welcome! xo from your new EGC-in-process.
Annie, short and long, it makes no difference, I love all comments. :)
