Yes, this is a picture of me, the author of Everyday Glamour. Everyday Glamour is about to get a makeover--I’m currently working on updating this site. Naturally, I needed an array of glamour shots. One of them will appear on my new site, in the About the Author section. No, this picture isn’t THE ONE….I absolutely love it but there are other contenders!

When the time came to call on a photographer, I knew exactly where to go to get the recommendation. A former coworker of mine, Monica Phromsavanh, started an online fashion boutique, ModaListas….and it took off! ModaListas sells beautiful, fashionable, and sexy clothes, the kind of clothes that Everyday Glamour Chicks, (E.G.C.’s), crave. Being the astute E.G.C. that she is, Monica has a variety of stunnning glamour shots of her own, which were taken by various photographers. A couple of her photographs looked to me to have the essence of Everyday Glamour. Of course, I did not hesitate to ask for the photography referral.
Drumroll, please......My talented photographer is Naomi Castillo! I knew right away that Naomi was a perfect fit for Everyday Glamour. Her mild professional manner soothed the nerves of this novice subject. She moved quickly with me through the streets of SoHo, clicked away with ease, and got me to pose like a pro. When I got the proofs back I was astounded by the magnitude of great shots right at my fingertips! Naomi nailed it. She captured the spirit of Everyday Glamour.
My talented hair stylist/makeup artist is Miyu Asakawa. Miyu has been working wonders on my hair for many years now--too many to count. I was so excited to have her do my makeup as well, as Miyu regularly contributes her makeup and hair styling to editorial photo shoots. Hey, if she’s good enough for Italian Vogue, Nylon, and Harpers Bazaar Japan, she’s good enough for me.
