Thanksgiving Dressing Recipe
Sunday, November 22, 2009 at 10:02PM
Photo courtesy of www.lagarconne.comThis Thanksgiving, will you be attending one of those fancy-schmancy parties, or will you be lounging at home with family? My guess is the latter. And I'll bet that for many of you, one of those long post-dinner naps may also be on the agenda. So it really doesn't matter how you dress. After all, you'll be with family. They love you no matter what, and comfort is key. Wait a minute! This blog ain't called Everyday Glamour for nothin'!! Everyday Glamour Chicks, (E.G.C.'s), know that being comfortable and being chic are not mutually exclusive endeavours. Plus, Thanksgiving is such a great photo op, why not make a little effort? Forget about shopping, just take a little trip to your closet instead. It's much more cost-effective.
See what you already own.....
Outfit #1: A pretty silk camisole, (or even that vintage silk short slipdress), a long, soft cardigan, leggings, and a pretty necklace.
Outfit #2: A comfortable sweater dress, and leggings.
Outfit #3: Your favorite jeans, and a fitted sweater over that pretty silk camisole.
Bonus: When you go outside for the post-dinner, pre-nap walk outside, slip on your casual boots, (tall or shortie).
What outfit will you be wearing?

Kate, I'd love to respond but I am still undecided as to what to wear tomorrow!!!

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Kellina, Happy Thanksgiving!! :)
(I'm wearing my new Wolford merino wool leggings--so warm I think I'll live in them!)

p.s. still looking into the jewelry....:)
Your leggings sound divine!! Must add to Christmas wish list...
What I Wore for Thanksgiving update: olive green military jacket from Zara via Marshall's: $5 (seriously), it has the coolest burnished buttons that can button up either side of the militant lapel; black vneck sweater from H&M: $15; black skirt, midthigh length with two small pleats at top of each leg from Salvation Army: $6; black Madden Girl flats: $20; black tights: $4. No jewelry due to abundance of buttons on jacket so $50 total outfit. It's my favorite jacket but it has so much flair it calls for a simple background. What did you wear with your new favorite leggings?
: )
You have a black-belt in shopping, seriously!!
I wore the Wolford merino wool leggings, (ribbed, heathered dark grey), just with an oatmeal colored cotton cami with white lace detail and little pintucks, (Uniqlo--from Japan), and a long navy cardigan, (also purchased in Japan). When I went outside I slipped on my Burberry tall boots, (brown, lace-up detail, wedge) and a short black trench coat from--you guessed it!--Uniqlo in Japan. Ha, ha.
:)
Kate, the only shopping black belt is my discipline, I generally choose an amount like $15 or $20 while I'm out and refuse to let myself go over it. Clearly I usually return home empty handed! As you know all too well, I do balance this with bigger ticket items occasionally but I usually want them for a while first.

Your Thanksgiving outfit sounds adorable! Thanks for sharing.
Elegance is refusal. :)
Hi Kate !
Long time I didn't post, sorry ! I was very busy preparing a trip to Australia. I am moving there for 1 year in march. Yeah ! (Hope I will improve my english there !)
In France we don't celebrate Thanksgiving, but I am thinking already of my Xmas outfit... I like your article, it will be useful for me during holiday. it is true that you have to be glamourous even with the family, even in the countryside ! Xmas is the only time in the year when I see all my family together (uncles, grand parents, cousins...) and I don't want them to think : "Oh, she took some weight !" or "She looks sloppy, what'the matter ?", or it will follow me the rest of the year !!
Cheers !
Claire!!! I'm so happy to hear from you! And please, no sorries necessary!
Your life sounds so exciting, wow, Australia! And please keep me posted on the xmas outfit! :) And don't forget New Years...;)
